Amazon, which has been in a state of complete stalemate since the start of the pandemic due to the explosion of online commerce, announced Thursday that it plans to recruit 75,000 people in the United States and Canada and give a bounty to vaccinated candidates.

Amazon says it offers average hourly wages of over $ 17 when hiring and an exceptional premium that can exceed $ 1,000. Newcomers who can prove they have been vaccinated against Covid-19 will get $ 100 on top.

The group, which is looking for employees to work in and deliver its warehouse, has been running regular hiring campaigns since the start of the pandemic. As of March 31, it employed a total of 1.27 million people worldwide, a 50 percent increase over the previous year, of whom more than 800,000 were in the United States.

US companies are struggling to hire employees, and many of them are now raising their salaries. For example, fast food chain McDonald’s announced Thursday that it will increase hourly wages by 10 percent in the United States and offer a minimum wage of between $ 11 and $ 17 an hour depending on the region.
