A facility to develop circular plastics on an industrial scale

Both the Netherlands and Europe want an economy in 2050 where waste serves as raw material for new products as much as possible. Brightlands Circular Space will be launched as part of the national programme Plastic Ring NL CPNL contributes to this by bringing together all parts of the process and the different parties.

It therefore offers tailored options to test and scale innovative recycling technologies and train talent. The three initiators contribute knowledge, resources and networks, together with industrial partners.

Fully circular demonstration facility

The facility will consist of several buildings on an area of ​​more than 4 hectares. These buildings will contain all the equipment and expertise necessary for research, development, analysis and testing of reuse of plastic waste on a large scale. Examples include mechanical or chemical recycling, as well as reprocessing, industrial design, and scaling up of new materials and products. The three initiators contribute knowledge, resources and networks, together with industrial partners.

Investing in circular solutions

The National Growth Fund has provided €25 million through the CircularplasticsNL program for pilot facilities at Brightlands Circular Space. The founding partners also invest together 25 One million euros. Brightlands Circular Space is expected to be operational in 2026.
