(ABM FN-Dow Jones) UK economic activity grew the fastest in April. This came from preliminary numbers from Markit Economics on Friday.
UK composite PMI rose from 56.4 in March to 60.0 in April. This puts the index at an 89-month high.
The Services PMI rose from 56.3 to 60.1, the highest point in 80 months. The preliminary industry index rose from 58.9 to 60.7. In fact, this is the highest level in nearly 27 years.
An index position greater than 50 indicates growth, while less than 50 indicates contraction.
