On Monday afternoon, things got completely out of hand in Knokke-Heist due to the intense heat and the search for a parking space. The police had to activate the “heat plan” when the crowds on the coast went completely off the rails. Emotions flared in Lebenslaan. A group of young people got into a violent fight over the lack of parking spaces.
The discussion, which began as a scuffle, quickly escalated into a full-scale brawl involving between ten and twenty young people. Local police, led by Chief of Police Steve DeSmet, had to intervene decisively to calm things down.
