Stephen King (76) believes that Joe Biden (81) should withdraw from the US presidential race. The author believes it’s time to leave the Democratic party honors to someone else.
“It’s time for him to announce — to the America he loves — that he’s not running for re-election.”
“Joe Biden is a great president, but for the America he loves so much — it’s time to announce he won’t run for re-election,” writes Stephen X. Many followers did not appreciate the author’s statements. For example, some thought it was cowardly for Stephen to no longer support Biden, while others believed that Biden’s withdrawal would mean a certain victory for his Republican opponent, Donald Trump.
Two weeks ago, King shared a message on X in which he predicted Trump would lose. “Brace yourselves,” he wrote on June 25. That was before a televised debate between Biden and Trump in which the sitting president struggled to get his words out. Since then, criticism of Biden has grown, and many Democratic donors have withdrawn their support during his run for president.
