More than fifty injured after repelling a missile attack on Kiev outside
The Russian army fired ten missiles at Kiev from Tuesday night to Wednesday. The Ukrainian army repelled all attacks. More than fifty people were injured as a result of falling debris.
The Ukrainian military reported in a telegram that anti-aircraft defenses repelled the attack with the ten ballistic missiles at 3 a.m. (local time).
Shrapnel from the destructive missiles fell on several parts of the city. As a result, buildings and homes were damaged, and fires broke out in some places. Windows were also shattered by the shock wave caused by the missiles’ destruction.
According to the Ukrainian army, 51 people were injured, including six children. The water supply in one neighborhood was also damaged. A spokesman said many of the injuries were caused by broken windows. 17 residents were evacuated as a fire broke out around their homes.
The Ukrainian Air Force reported that ten attack drones were en route to Odessa that same night. These drones were also shot from the sky. Russia has not yet responded to either attack.
This week, Russia launched major missile attacks on Kiev for the first time in months. During the night from Sunday to Monday, the Ukrainian army shot down eight missiles fired at Kiev. Four people were injured.
