Top seed Talon of Greece, Spor, misses the semi-finals in Astana sports
Greek Talon Spor failed to reach the semi-finals of the tournament in Astana. The first ranked Dutch tennis player lost to Sebastian Korda in three sets. The American won the match 6-4, 4-6, 6-3.
Greek Spor and Korda faced each other for the first time on the ATP Tour. The two do not differ much in classification. The Greek team Sport is ranked twenty-fourth, and its American competitor is four places behind. In the first set, the match was tied at 4-5, but Korda broke Grekpor at a crucial moment and had to concede the set.
In the second game, Greek Spor recovered by breaking serve in the third game. He kept that margin and settled the score in sets. In the decisive set, the Dutchman was broken again after a weak serve. After that, he was no longer able to cause problems for the 23-year-old Korda. Korda finished the match with a score of 6-3.
The 27-year-old Greek racer took pole position in Astana for the first time in his career.
