A day after the Philadelphia Phillies were hit by five runs in Game Three of the World Series (7-0), the Houston Astros responded forcefully. The American League champion did not give the host team a single victory last night and tied in the final of the American Championship (the best of seven) with a convincing victory 5-0: 2-2.

Starting pitcher Christian Javier (9 hits in 6 innings pitched) and relievers Rafael Montero, Brian Abreu and Ryan Pressley made history at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia. The quartet teamed with catcher Christian Vazquez for the first time in World Series history.
Only once did the team fail to achieve a single World Championship goal. In 1956, New York Yankees player Don Larsen pitched a perfect game against the Brooklyn Dodgers. In 118 episodes of Fall Classic No hitter has happened with that many pitchers yet.
The Astros’ victory came in the fifth inning, in which the Texans scored five runs. After Phillies starter-starter Aaron Nola loaded the bases and replaced him, things got worse for the home team. Yordan Alvarez was hit by Nola substitute Jose Alvarado, who then gave up a double from Alex Bregman, Kyle Tucker’s Sack Fly and Yuli Gurriel’s single: 5-0.
It meant game over for Alvarado after one run, but the Phillies were unable to repair the damage. Game 5 was scheduled for the following night (1:03 AM). Back in Philadelphia. Game 6 (Saturday) and Game 7 (Sunday) will be played in Houston.
The Astros are in their fourth World Series in six years. They won in 2017. Philadelphia is in the Finals for the first time since 2009. Last year, the title went to the Atlanta Braves.
