On “Discovery Night” on Saturday 17 September, the organization was able to get a performance by singer-songwriter Alan Clarke. During the Night of Discoveries, the singer will perform in an intimate setting at Hortus botanicus.
This year, Discovery Night also gives a stage for young talents. On the grounds of the Leiden University Academy building, the Hortus botanicus and the Old Observatory, visitors can explore inspiring performances, exhibitions, discussions, workshops and lectures on themes of art and science.
The Art and Science Festival offers a program full of activities between art and knowledge. At the ‘Silent Disco’, for example, visitors can enjoy the funky tunes of Strik & Strak, but also Pikante Peper Smaaksensatie. In addition, there is a meditation café where visitors can “hear the beans and feel the tubers.”
During the Night of Discoveries, Sleutelstad will be broadcasting live radio from the festival area throughout the evening. The broadcast begins at 7 pm and continues until midnight.
