VideoDutch hockey and hockey players won a professional league match against Germany. It wasn’t easy for both teams, but the home country had to believe it. National coach Jeroen Delmy’s team won 2-3. Hockey players win with the same numbers.

So far, the Orange team has been in the professional league: eight wins and two draws, after which the hockey players got the bonus point through a penalty shootout. Also, in the first part of a double match with Germany, they maintained their undefeated position.
Although Germany took the lead with a superb corner kick from Mats Grambusch: 1-0. Tim Swain equalized the score again – also from a penalty kick – and then Joep de Mol gave Holland the lead: 1-2. The defender made the fiftieth goal for Orange under the guidance of national coach Delmy.
Germany fought in the third quarter with a penalty kick by Gonzalo Pilate. However, the Netherlands won thanks to Koen Bijen, who used his body cleverly and crossed Dennis Warmerdam’s cross behind the German goalkeeper: 2-3.
Hockey players snatched the win and gave Dilmy a record: no national coach went unbeaten in his first 12 matches except him. Jules Ancione was unbeaten in his first 11 games as a National Hockey League coach in 1970.
Tomorrow, the Netherlands will play again against Germany (2:30 pm). Orange leads the Pro League.

The women showed a lot of resilience in Hamburg. Temporary national coach Jamilon Mulders’ team took over after the first half with a score of 3-2. Frederic Matla scored the winning goal about five minutes before the end, on a rebound from a suspended penalty kick.
The Dutch fell back in the first quarter via Sarah Strauss. Sonia Zimmermann doubled Germany’s lead in the second quarter with a penalty kick. Felice Albers restored the tension after the end of the first half and at the end of the third quarter Ledwig Wilton tied the score. Mulders’ team won in the final stage.
Earlier in the week, the coach of the German national team presented his selection for next month’s World Cup in the Netherlands and Spain. Eva de Guede, who has nearly recovered from a serious knee injury, is also one of those. German women have not yet competed. Germany and the Netherlands will meet again on Sunday in Hamburg (11.30 am).
The Orange team is second only to Argentina in the Pro League.
