All goals came in the first half from a penalty kick, while six field goals were scored in the second half. Yibbi Jansen gave Orange the lead within 10 minutes and also set the first half result at 3-0 with a penalty kick. Rene van Larhoeven also scored in the same way for the team of interim national coach Jamilon Mulders.
Where the Olympic champion scored just three goals on Saturday against significantly weaker American hockey players, the score has now increased even more. Frederic Matla and Josje Borg scored twice, while Ledwig Wilton and Frick Moss scored. With just over a minute of play, Janssen also pushed for a 10-0, much to the delight of the crowd at Amstelveen.
The Orange team is now traveling to India for two matches in Bhubaneswar, on April 8 and 9. The best players in the Netherlands, including Matla and Wilten, have skipped the trip because shortly afterwards they will be playing the final weekend of the European Hockey League with their clubs Amsterdam and Dean Bosch.
The Netherlands is the leader in the Pro League with 17 points from six matches. Only against Spain was the loss (2-2).
What goal did I like the most? “The last one, because I’ve never made it like that through the bottom of the bar, at least I don’t remember it,” Yibbi Jansen said in front of the Ziggo Sport camera.
We got along very well and that led to good goals, especially in the final stage. “I think we looked closely at who was free and diversified more with penalty kicks,” said Jansen, who plays for SCHC.
With SCHC not participating in the last weekend of the Euro Hockey League, Jansen will soon be on a plane to India for the two matches in the Pro League.
“I’ve never been there before, but if you hear the stories it’s going to be a great adventure,” said Janssen, the daughter of former Orange goalkeeper Ronald Janssen.
