#252 “What are you doing, Jio?”

Maud is desperately searching for a new home, and for a moment she thinks she’s found the mansion of her dreams. She would then live with the new torch of her ex-Tommy, but she took that for granted. Tommy played well, but Geo thought it was a crazy idea. When Geo and Maud are enjoying their first beautiful day at the beach, she suddenly receives an email from Charlie: “After I heard from your current partner last week that you were Tommy’s ex-husband, I thought you’d better go look for another house.”

“What is this again!” I screamed so loudly, it seemed, that I heard from the toilet next to me whether everything was going well. “All is well!” I called again, but in the meantime my anger exploded. Jio somehow reached out to Charlie and told her I was my ex-Tommy!? Charlie closes her email saying she’s sorry and hopes we can continue to interact normally. I’ve added a link to another available home as well, but I don’t even want to open the link.

On high legs stormed Geo. Is that the huge sand is too heavy, otherwise I would have run into it. “What are you doing now, Jiu? So I really don’t like it when people sort things out behind my back, don’t you think I could have solved this myself? I’m tired of it! Jiu is surprised and I don’t give him time to answer. I gather my things and run to The closest beach bar.

As soon as I came to my senses with a snowy rose, I realized I might have been a bit brighter. Later I should have quietly asked Jio what was going on, but what should I do? Like a little kid I start yelling and embarrassing him in the middle of a crowded beach! I feel ashamed and can’t hold back my tears. I also have to get my period and after that I just emo very fast. Just when I want to call Rochella, Gio comes up. “Nerd, can I join you? Maybe we can talk softly now?” I have to laugh and cry at the same time. “Sorry, you were bad, right? You don’t deserve this…”

Geo sits down and explains to me that Charlie still knows from his studies. It is twenty kilograms lighter and looks completely different than it did ten years ago. Jiu didn’t immediately recognize her at first. “Maud, I’ve met a lot of people, I didn’t realize it was Charlie. Until I got a message from her on Facebook. I asked how serious we were and then explained that I was madly in love with you, but it’s not official yet. But? Anyway, I couldn’t stand that you were going to live with Your ex and you told her so. Sorry.”

I still think it’s a rather vague story and I don’t understand why Jio didn’t tell me this earlier. On the other hand, I can make sense of it a bit, if I’m being honest I wouldn’t find it cool myself. I don’t want to let this stand between us, but this is the second fight in a week and I’m kind of drenched in fear all of a sudden. Isn’t everything moving so fast between us? Jio seems to be able to read my mind. „Maud, you can learn to communicate and I think we both have something to learn. I haven’t been in a relationship for a long time, you’re a little better in a relationship, but sometimes I just wonder if you want to be with me.”

Geo suggests we see each other less next week so we can sort things out. I’m not sure if this is a good plan, but I don’t have an alternative either. The rest of the afternoon, we drink some wine at the beach bar and once at Gio’s house, we both sleep like logs.

The next morning I woke up at 6 am out of panic. The search for my house starts all over again and the idea worries me. I decided to run so that I could temporarily escape from my problems. Then I get fresh juices for Gio and I. Still asleep and perhaps for the best, before I burst into tears again. Then I cycle to the office very early. On the way I call my brother to ask if I can sleep with him next week. “Sure, it’s a mess! But this is just your house. I’ll sleep with my mom for a few days, and then you’ll have a house to yourself,” says my brother.

Often I’m not the first in the office and the editor-in-chief is surprised when she first sees me. We talk about the weekend and then suddenly she picks up her phone. “Say Maud, I wanted to ask you one more thing, but have you seen this yet?”

Maud (23 years old) loves to party and travel. I recently started working as an editor for a magazine. Her relationship with boyfriend Tommy has just ended and Maud is looking for a new home in Amsterdam. Every week she reads her adventures in a new way episode From the book Maud Night.
