Rip Curl Pro: Womens RD1

The third stop on the Women’s ASP World Tour kicked off down at Bells Beach this morning. We were treated with perfect scores and upsets.

The stand out of the day was 2011 ASP World Champion Carissa Moore. 20-year-old Moore continued her great form posting the events first perfect 10 and the days highest heat total of 19.43.

With third place at the Roxy Pro, and most recently first at the Margaret River Pro, Carissa has no doubt sent a strong message to her competitors on the circuit.

The major upset of the day came when 22-year-old Hawaiian Alana Blanchard got the best of the current and five-time ASP World Champion Stephanie Gilmore.

Next call is Friday March 28th at 8:30am (AEST).
