Pro skier survives 500-metre fall in Alaska

Pro skier Ian McIntosh has miraculously survived a 500-metre fall in the Neacola mountain range in Alaska.

Caught on camera in April during the filming of ski and snowboarding doco ‘Paradise Waits’, the footage was uploaded to YouTube by Teton Gravity Research last week.

TGR co-founder Todd Jones described the incident as “the most terrifying crash I’ve ever seen” on the company’s website.

McIntosh fell into a 1.5-metre trench, which triggered the fall. Incredibly, the 24-year-old McIntosh was able to walk away from the half-kilometre, 35-second plummet.
