ZLATAN’S LATE GOAL SAVES UNITED

Veteran recruit Zlatan Ibrahimovic continues to prove his value during his first season at Manchester United, scoring a late goal to salvage one point against Liverpool at Old Trafford.

The 35-year-old, a controversial purchase by incoming manager Jose Mourinho, headed in an 85th-minute equaliser to ensure the heavyweight clash finished 1-1.

Liverpool opened the scoring through a James Milner penalty in the first half, after a soft Paul Pogba handball – but Zlatan came to the rescue for United once again.

Ibrahimovic joined Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez and Chelsea superstar Diego Costa at the top of the Premier League’s goal scorers charts with his 14th of the season.

The result saw Liverpool slip to third spot on percentages behind Tottenham, who trounced West Brom 4-0 to kick off the round. United remain in sixth spot, two points behind embattled Man City and four points adrift of fourth-placed Arsenal.
