Yaya Toure is regarded as one of the most clinical finishers in world football, but the Manchester City superstar’s off-target strike at Loftus Road had painful consequences for a five-year-old girl in the crowd.
The Ivory Coast international’s shot curled just outside the top corner of the goal during City’s clash with QPR – and sconed little Chloe Power square in the face. Of course, it wouldn’t be right to laugh…but we’re only human – this is sporting comedy gold.
The tale had a happy postscript, with Chloe unharmed and later given signed shirts from both sides.
A relieved Toure also expressed his delight that he didn’t injure the youngster via Twitter.
Just spoke to the lovely Chloe and her dad on the phone. So glad she is ok.
