Thierry Henry closes terrific career

Au revoir, Thierry Henry!

Arguably the finest player in Premier League history has announced his retirement from football after 20 glorious years.

The 37-year-old spent the last part of his career in Major League Soccer with New York Red Bulls, but will be remembered best for his club-record 228 goals in 377 matches for Arsenal.

Add that distinction to five league titles from three nations, a UEFA Champions League winner’s medal, the 1998 FIFA World Cup, a stack of individual awards and it’s easy to argue the Frenchman ranks amongst the best of his era.

‘Va Va Voom’ will now move in front of the camera and behind the mic for broadcaster Sky Sports.
