Steven Gerrard opens up on Galaxy move

Steven Gerrard has revealed Major League Soccer champions LA Galaxy as his next destination following a 17-year career at Liverpool.

The Reds legend will leave Anfield at the conclusion of the current Premier League campaign, linking up with his new teammates midway through the US season.

“The most important thing is that I go there and it’s a success on the pitch and hopefully we can enjoy it off it as well,” Gerrard said.

Ireland international and reigning MLS MVP Robbie Keane will be Gerrard’s most familiar face at the club after the pair spent six months together at Liverpool in 2008.

The former England skipper will have plenty of help settling into California life, having already been welcomed to Los Angeles by Lakers star Kobe Bryant .
