When French prodigy Anthony Martial transferred from AS Monaco to Manchester United in 2015, he cost a cool £36 million – making him one of the most expensive teenagers in Premier League history.

But that figure could rise even further for the English heavyweights, who agreed to a clause in Martial’s contract that they would have to pay AS Monaco a further £8.5 million after he reached the milestone of 25 goals across all competitions for United.

Martial arrived at Old Trafford under plenty of pressure to perform, but he has made every post a winner since scoring on EPL debut off the bench, and bagging a brace in his first start for the club.

After being in and out of Jose Mourinho’s starting side this season, rumours circulated that the 21-year-old wanted out of the club, but he has refuted those claims and has maintained his solid goal-scoring form  for United.
