Liverpool have completed the signing of Nathaniel Clyne from Southampton for £12.5 million. This is the second bid Liverpool made for the English right-back, having previously had a £10 million bid rejected.
He had one year left on his contract at St. Mary’s stadium, and with the player having made his interest in leaving apparent, Southampton were keen to receive what they viewed as a fair price for one of their best players last season.
It sees the busy start to Liverpool’s transfer window continue, with Clyne being the sixth player to arrive at Anfield before the start of next season. James Milner, Danny Ings, Adam Bogdan, Firminho and Joe Gomez are the other fresh faces at the Merseyside club.
