Commentary Box Sports brings you a wrap of last week’s action involving Aussies and Kiwis playing over in Europe.

Socceroo Aaron Mooy played the full game for Huddersfield Town, providing the assist for his side’s crucial second goal in a 3-2 win over Rotherham United.

But the former Melbourne City star was denied the chance to play in the prestigious FA Cup, with loan rules restricting him from taking the field against Manchester City, who own his contract despite him being on loan to Huddersfield.

Bailey Wright, Callum Elder and Ryan Williams all took the field in the Championship competition as well.

Kiwi duo Chris Wood and Tommy Smith met when Ipswich Town and Leeds United played out a 1-1 draw, with Wood providing a headed assist for Leeds’ equaliser on 42 minutes and Smith being a non-playing reserve for Town.

In the Premier League, Penrith’s Brad Smith was on the bench for Bournemouth as they went down 2-0 to Manchester City, while All Whites defender Winston Reid is in Dubai where his West Ham side are going through a mid-season training camp.

Across in the German Bundesliga, Mathew Leckie was red carded in the 81st minute as his Ingolstadt won 2-0 over Eintracht Frankfurt, while in Belgium Socceroos shot-stopper Mathew Ryan had some big saves for Genk as they drew 1-1 with Sporting Charleroi.
