Barca advance despite Joe Hart heroics

Barcelona are through to the Champions League Quarter Finals after easing to a 1-0 home win over Manchester City on Thursday morning, following their 2-1 first-leg triumph.

Ivan Rakitic’s first half goal proved enough as, even though Marc-Andre ter Stegen kept out a late Sergio Aguero penalty, City only remained in touch thanks to Joe Hart.

The England gloveman is under pressure from Southampton’s Fraser Forster to retain his national team spot, but performances like this on the big stage will surely keep his position safe.

Juventus had plenty of stars in their impressive 3-0 away win over Borussia Dortmund, sealing a comfortable 5-1 aggregate victory.

Carlos Tevez’s spectacular third-minute opener sent the Italian giants on their way to the next round.
