No team has ever turned around a two-goal first-leg defeat but that’s the mountain facing the Gunners after their shock loss at the Emirates.

Trailing 2-0 prior to the hour, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain inspired hope of a late turnaround around with a blockbuster from outside the area.

Monaco still found time to a third deeper into stoppage time though, while one was enough for Bayer Leverkusen to oust Spanish champions Atletico Madrid.

Hakan Calhanoglou smashed home a 57th minute beauty to give the Germans the upper hand ahead of their trip to Madrid.
