Wallabies coach Ewen McKenzie has named Quade Cooper in his 32-man squad for the third and final Bledisloe Cup Test versus the All Blacks at Suncorp Stadium next Saturday night (October 18).
NSW Super Rugby winner Kurtley Beale has been left out after the drama surrounding his “deeply offensive” text messages to teammates in June, and the recent and highly-publicised aeroplane dispute between the backline utility and ARU staff member Di Patston.
Last night in the Buildcorp National Rugby Championship, Cooper kicked nine from 10 and produced a few try assists in Brisbane City’s 77-26 record win over the North Harbour Rays in Manly.
The Wallabies will be anxious for a positive result after their humiliating 21-17 loss to Argentina last weekend. The upset gifted the Pumas their first Rugby Championship victory since their inclusion in the four-nation competition.
- Luke Jones from the Melbourne Rebels was called into the squad.
- Matt Toomua wasn’t named as he’s still recovering from numerous concussions.
- The squad will be cut to 23 early next week.
