MONDAY MEMORIES: BRUMBIES SLICK SET PIECE TRY IN 1999 VERSUS CATS

For this week’s edition of ‘Monday Memories’ we showcase a brilliant backline move by the ACT Brumbies in 1999.

Taking on the Cats (now the Lions) at Ellis Park in Johannesburg, a young and dynamic duo consisting of George Gregan and Stephen Larkham get the move underway from their own 35-metre line.

With a simple pass-and-wrap by Larkham, a straight line and pop by centre James Holbeck, and a (forward) pass by the current ACT coach, the Brumbies are able to create an overlap leaving Stirling Mortlock with one man to beat.

Larkham’s second pass might have floated forward, but why let that ruin your Monday?
