The Honey Badger thanks army of fans

Wallabies and Western Force cult hero Nick Cummins thanked his army of supporters after last Saturday’s vital win over the Queensland Reds, just a day after the shock announcement he was being granted a release to join a Japanese club due to extenuating family circumstances.

‘The Honey Badger’, who has surely inspired more crowd costumes and tributes than any other player in Super Rugby history, scored a try in the Force’s 30-20 defeat of the Reds, which kept the franchise’s hopes of a maiden finals appearance alive with one round to play.

Cummins sought a compassionate release to take up the big-money deal with Coca Cola West Red Sparks, which will allow him to help his family – several of whom are battling serious illness.
