Izzy speaks as Wallabies arrive in Cape Town

The rebuilding Wallabies face a stern test of their progress and ongoing development this weekend, facing off against South Africa at Newlands.

Australia pipped the touring Springboks in a 24-23 thriller in Perth earlier in the Rugby Championship, with Pat McCabe’s late try and Bernard Foley’s conversion snatching the win.

But playing in the Republic presents a whole new set of challenges – and Newlands has been an unwelcoming venue for the Wallabies. South Africa has won the last six Tests against Australia at the venue, with the Wallabies’ last win at Newlands a famous 26-3 drubbing soon after the Springboks’ readmission to international rugby in 1992.

Israel Folau, who has been below his devastating best during the Rugby Championship, spoke to the media at a gym session following the Wallabies squad’s arrival in Cape Town.
