Highlanders' best off-field moments of 2014

The Otago Highlanders enjoyed a long-overdue season of success in the 2014 Super XV competition, reaching the finals for the first time in 12 years before going down to the Sharks in a valiant qualifying final effort in South Africa.

The ultra-talented squad has also proven to be one of the most popular and entertaining off the paddock, with Highlanders TV developing something of a cult following.

Highlanders TV posted a ‘best of’ video recently, featuring their best and funniest moments away from the high-pressure climate of Super Rugby – including gym karaoke, basketball court mauls, near-nude golf, highland dancing and plenty of time with the kids.

But the highlight has to be Japanese cult hero halfback Fumiaki Tanaka dominating his much bigger teammates in a makeshift sumo ring.
