Flashback Friday takes a look at one of Otago’s favourite sons, the mercurial winger-fullback Jeff Wilson, with this outstanding compilation of his greatest tries in the blue and gold.

Wilson scored 44 tries in 60 Tests for the All Blacks (1993-2002), while he played 72 games for the Highlanders (1996-2002) and racked up another 56 provincial appearances for Otago after playing seven times for his native Southland.

Incredibly, he also played six ODIs for the Black Caps – including a match-winning 44 not out against Australia in 1993 – either side of his long and distinguished rugby career.

Sit back and marvel at one of the most naturally gifted and dangerous outside backs the 15-a-side game has ever produced.
