Our 'Honey Badger' obsession continues

He may have left our shores for Japan four months ago, but Australia’s obsession with former Western Force winger Nick ‘The Honey Badger’ Cummins has barely subsided.

Cummins’ full-throttle play on the flank for the Force and Wallabies, and his unique and infinitely quotable interview style, are custom-made for cult hero status.

We got another first-hand taste of the Honey Badger’s talent on the paddock and in front of the microphone last weekend when he took on his former Wallaby teammates, scoring a try and producing some more post-match gold.

Now that he has briefly swept back into our lives again, it seems appropriate to revisit Denis Carnahan’s outstanding tribute song that surfaced in April. A reworking of Leonard Cohen’s classic ‘Hallejuah’ – later made more famous by the late Jeff Buckley’s version – Carnahan’s lyrics feature some of Cummins’ best lines, while the accompanying video depicts his finest tries and most epic interview moments. Enjoy!
