Top 10 tries of the 2015 Auckland Nines

The second annual Auckland Nines has been run and won, with an under-strength South Sydney outfit added another trophy to the cabinet with an improbable triumph.

The Rabbitohs, inspired by MVP Adam Reynolds, captain Isaac Luke and big George Burgess, won a sensational final with a ‘Golden Try’ to retired star Matt King after nine minutes of extra-time against fellow surprise packets Cronulla.

The Sharks, who eliminated overwhelming tournament favourites the Warriors in the quarters, forced the final into an added period with a late try to Jack Bird and a booming sideline conversion by young gun Valentine Holmes.

Relive the best plays of a spectacular weekend at Eden Park, including a string of brilliant efforts from St George Illawarra recruit Eto Nabuli; superb crowd-pleasing tries by Shaun Johnson and Manu Vatuvei; dazzling play from little men Reynolds and Parramatta’s Chris Sandow, another standout; barnstorming touchdowns from Burgess and Jason Taumololo; Canberra’s late victory over the Warriors that left the parochial Auckland crowd stunned at the end of Day 1; and King’s trophy-clinching try, followed by a jubilant red-and-green in-goal pile-up.
