Souths handed keys to the city

South Sydney’s long-awaited 21st premiership triumph continues to enhance its status as the most celebrated and storied of the modern era, with the Rabbitohs handed the keys to the city during the fourth straight day of celebrations.

After an open bus-top parade through the heart of the district, Souths were presented with the keys to the city by Sydney Lord Mayor Clover Moore to honour the drought-breaking success.

Moore gave a stirring address to the thousands of fans who turned out for the parade, while coach Michael Maguire also spoke of how humbled he was by his charges and the effect the victory has had on the club’s supporters.
