Next up in his NRL Recruitment Watch series, NICK TEDESCHI looks at who the Canberra Raiders may be looking at, who they should be going after, and the areas on the roster that need shoring up for 2018.

Needs: Canberra are fairly well set across the park with no notable players off-contract, no real positional needs and no salary cap issues. The Raiders could certainly afford to upgrade at fullback but they believe in Jack Wighton more than most judges. The club will also look at any value halves that could push Aidan Sezer for a position. The Raiders’ most likely offseason moves though will be low-level value plays to add depth to their middle forwards.

2018 Recruits: None

2018 Losses: None

Off-Contract: Adam Clydsdale, Kato Ottio, Lachlan Croker, Scott Sorensen, Zac Santo

Rumours: Dunamis Lui is rumoured to be on the outs and is set to be released with a move to Melbourne on the cards. Veteran prop Jeff Lima is all set to retire. The highly-rated Kato Ottio will likely seek an opportunity elsewhere with Newcastle and Wests Tigers a very real possibility.

Players to Target: Newcastle pair Jack Stockwell and David Bhana are two cheapies who would add some depth to a good Raiders pack. The pair are workhorses and could fill in at lock or prop. Out-of-favour Cowboy Ben Spina is cut from similar cloth and would be a quality fit.
