RD 5: Storm v Tigers

Tigers: James Tedesco (18’), Benji Marshall (52’)


Both team had chances inside the oppositions 20 in the first 10 minutes, neither side were able to capitalise.


The Tigers were the first to cross the line. After some brilliant team play, a Farah grubber found an open James Tedesco in the 18th minute.

Melbourne went on the attack, yet the Tigers defense was holding up.


Just before the half though a barging Siosaia Vave manage to find a crack in the Tigers line and level the score (39’).


Half Time: Storm 6 Tigers 6.


Being denied a try just after the break. The Tigers looked dangerous early.

However there was no denying the Tigers in the 52nd minute as a Robbie Farah bomb was heavily contented and made it into the hands of an open Benji Marshall.


Melbourne looked frazzled, yet kept to their game plan and piled on two tries in three minutes to regain the lead.


The first in the 62nd minute as simple hands left them with an overlap and Mahe Fonua strolled over in the corner. The second was down the right as the Storm broke the line and Cooper Cronk was backing up on the inside (65’).


Sisa Waqa sealed the game in the 73rd minute.
