Bluetongue Stadium

In wet and horrible conditions, Manly and the Tigers took part in a physical encounter.

The first 10 minutes was overloaded with mistakes as both teams found it near impossible to complete a set.

Manly were on the back-foot in the opening 20 minutes, and the Tigers seemed to be building pressure as they forced numerous drops in succession.

The Eagle’s were up to the task and effectively contained the Tigers. However, when Kieran Foran’s bomb went to the sky it was the Tigers defense that fell apart, as Tom Symonds capitalised on a mistake to score the first try of the night (27’).

Robbie Farah was substituted with 8 minutes to go in the half, a decision that Farah didn’t look pleased about.

Half Time: Manly 4 Tigers 0.

Manly came out and attacked the right hand side. Through David Williams they stormed on two quick tries in similar fashion (43’, 47’).

14-0 down the Tigers pushed forward and tried to make the most of some good field position, yet an obstruction call denied Wests a 4-pointer.

In the 73rd minute a bizarre sequence took place and Daly Cherry-Evans was there to seal the game for Manly (Video Highlights to your right).

Manly made sure of the 2 points as Matai strolled over finishing off a perfect second man play in the 80th minute.
