Hayne departs to the USA for NFL expedition

Jarryd Hayne has made the first step in his NFL journey.

The joint 2014 Dally M Medal winner was all smiles at Sydney Airport; as he should be – there is reportedly six franchises after him to sign a train-and-trial contract.

Hayne will fly to the US, where he will attempt to realise a dream to play in the NFL.

We hope he kills it over there. It will be great for Hayne if he succeeds, but it will be astronomical for Australia as a sporting nation.

If he does succeed, we can expect a lot more players pursuing this avenue, from grassroots all the way through to the elite level.
