FIFITA REPLACES WOODS IN KANGAROOS SQUAD

Via NRL Media

Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks prop Andrew Fifita has been added to the Kangaroos squad following the withdrawal of Aaron Woods.

Woods withdrew following a hamstring injury suffered on Saturday night.

Canberra Raiders forward Shannon Boyd will be the new starting prop, replacing Woods, with Fifita to join the interchange bench.

“Andrew has shown to all since last year’s Four Nations tournament that he is ready to play for the Kangaroos again,” Kangaroos Coach Mal Meninga said.

“The game made a stand regarding behaviour at the time and Andrew paid the price for that, missing the Four Nations tour. We’ve always said once the matter was dealt with he would be eligible for the Kangaroos again.

“Our game has seen some wonderful redemptive stories throughout its history and I can only think this will be another one.”
