CLEARY SETS UP INCREDIBLE TEAM TRY

Is this NSW’s next halfback?

After just eight NRL appearances, Blues fans are daring to dream their saviour has arrived in the form of Penrith rookie Nathan Cleary, who turned in yet another sensational performance in Monday’s vital win over Sydney Roosters.

The 18-year-old opened the scoring with a slick solo try and had a key hand in two subsequent four-pointers, but his assist for Tyrone Peachey’s second try had everyone in raptures.

Supporting a break and running into open spaces, Cleary put in a breathtaking cross-field kick for Peachey to finish off one of 2016’s best team tries.

The 38-18 result saw the Panthers climb up to seventh spot with four rounds remaining. After taking on last-placed Newcastle this weekend, Anthony Griffin’s side faces fellow finals hopefuls Wests Tigers, Gold Coast and Manly.
