Jedinak strike headlines top Socceroos game

Just as the Socceroos enhanced their reputation as an improving football force in Thursday morning’s 2-2 draw away to Germany, so too did skipper Mile Jedinak as a set-piece star.

The Crystal Palace man owed his side a goal after earlier aiding Germany’s equaliser by gifting away possession. Jedinak duly delivered, restoring Australia’s lead in spectacular style.

Ange Postecoglou’s Asian Cup winners will rightfully gain even greater confidence despite Lukas Podolski’s late leveller for the world champions.

Jedinak will look to continue his free-kick form in another friendly against Macedonia on Tuesday morning Australian time.
