Terry Antonis, Nathan Burns and Tomi Juric are among seven A-League players named in the Socceroos’ 23-man squad for the Asian Cup.
Ange Postecoglou revealed his final selections on Tuesday ahead of January’s tournament, to be hosted in Australia for the first time.
Sydney FC midfielder Antonis is the biggest bolter, while Burns’ league-leading 10 goals for Wellington Phoenix have shot him to the front of the queue.
Seven players have been cut from the World Cup squad including Oliver Bozanic, Ben Halloran and James Holland and the same number have survived from Australia’s 2011 Asian Cup campaign, when Holger Osieck led the side to an extra-time loss to Japan in the final.
Australia’s first match is against Kuwait at Melbourne’s AAMI Park, before further group fixtures against Oman and Korea Republic.
