Flashback Friday: Aus v NZ classic catches

The Classic Catches segment is a time-honoured tradition of watching Test cricket on TV, celebrating the greatest grabs of yesteryear.

With the cricketing rivalry between Australia and New Zealand at a level not witnessed since the days of Border and Hadlee in the mid-1980s, we’ve found this trio of catches from trans-Tasman encounters for Flashback Friday.

There’s an incredible one-hander low to the ground by Shane Warne in the slips off Mark Waugh’s bowling, a sensational diving slips catch by Allan Border off a Dave Gilbert delivery during the unforgettable 1985/86 summer, and Kiwi batsman Matthew Sinclair’s unbelievable effort in the outfield off Jacob Oram’s bowling to get rid of Matthew Hayden in an ODI at the MCG in 2004/05.

Who would you vote for? We reckon it’s a three-way dead-heat.
