Doug Bollinger claims Shield hat-trick

While his Test career may be well and truly over, Doug Bollinger still has plenty to offer at domestic level, claiming a hat-trick in NSW’s Sheffield Shield clash with Victoria at Wagga Wagga on Monday.

The 33-year-old ripped through the tail to have Victoria all out for just 114, giving NSW a 92-run first innings lead after they struggled to a modest 206 on the first day. NSW had advanced to 8/212 by stumps in their second dig to take a stranglehold on the match.

Everyone’s favourite rug-wearer played the last of his 12 Tests, in which he took 50 wickets at 25.92, in December 2010 against England. He last played in an ODI in October 2011, finishing with a record of 62 wickets in 39 matches at an outstanding 23.90, while he featured in Australia’s T20 series against South Africa in November.
