Tigers battered, Foley bloodied

The Richmond Tigers’ fairytale run came to a shuddering halt in the qualifying final against Port Adelaide, and their tough Sunday afternoon out at Adelaide Oval was epitomised by the blow suffered by Nathan Foley at the end of the third quarter.

With the Tigers trailing by 82 points, Foley’s face connected with the knee of a Power opponent, leaving him badly bloodied and requiring attention off the field.

Richmond showed more spirit in the final term, but were still despatched from the finals courtesy of the 20.12 (132) to 11.9 (75) result.
