Punches are routinely thrown at NFL practices. After all, football is an extremely violent game and feathers are bound to be ruffled now and again.
But, when Dez Bryant is at the end of those roundhouse punches, the blows make big time news.
First real fight of camp. Dez vs Wilcox. Wilcox popped Dez after a catch. Dez didn’t like it, walked in face. Wilcox started throwing blows

The Dallas Morning News posted video of the scuffle on their Instagram feed:
While some media pundits are pointing fingers at Dez Bryant and wondering if he’s still got an attitude problem, any NFL Head Coach worth his weight will tell you that a team that doesn’t fight at camp is a team that isn’t hungry.
Not only are Dez and Wilcox “OK”, the Cowboys’ 25 year old star receiver went on to praise the safety for bringing a little fire to the defence.
After practice he said: “J.J. put a nice hit on me. He pissed me off, but at the end of the day, I loved it. I told him, ‘Keep it coming.’ Hopefully the rest of the guys on that defence – not only the defence, but the offense and the whole team – feed off of that. That’s what it takes to win. That’s what we need to win. You’ve got to have that passion and that love for the game.”
Dez is right. After three straight 8-8 seasons Dallas needs to get a bee in their bonnet if they hope to get over the hump and back into the post-season.
