PATRIOTS WHEEL AND DEAL

The Patriots didn’t let the lack of cap space get in the way of a bombshell offseason.

Despite rumors that the Patriots were shopping Malcolm Butler and Jimmy Garoppolo, the Patriots dealt neither, and ended up massive winners instead.

They dealt the Panthers for Kony Ealy, the stud defensive end. And followed it up by landing Brandin Cooks, the star receiver from the Saints.

Oh, and they weren’t finished: they added Stephen Gilmore, the corner out of Buffalo, to pair with Butler. And then added Dwayne Allen to replace their lost TE in free agency. Couple that with over $30 million in cap space, and the Patriots are scary.

Yes, the rich get richer.
