It seems just yesterday that Mark Sanchez and the Eagles embarrassed Dallas on Turkey Day – oh, what a difference a couple of weeks can make.
Dez Bryant tore the Eagles’ secondary a new one, ripping the defense for 114 yards and 3 touchdowns (saving my fantasy football season along the way). It was Dez’s first career three-score game.

After flying out of the gates to a quick 21-0 lead, the Cowboys did allow the Eagles to climb back into the game. Philadelphia scored 24 unanswered points to take a 24-21 advantage in the second half before Romo turned on the juice one more time.
The 38-27 victory not only pushes Dallas into first place in the NFC East but also opens up the possibility of finishing the season with the #1 seed.
Green Bay’s unexpected loss to Buffalo has opened up all sorts of possibilities in the NFC, particularly since Seattle should be a heavy favorite to beat the Cardinals next week in Arizona.
Should Seattle, Green Bay, Detroit and Dallas all claim victories in week 16, we would have an incredible five teams tied at (11-5) heading into the final game…but let’s not get ahead of ourselves here.
An opening for Detroit
The Lions’ topsy-turvy season took one more upswing after watching the Packers fall to the Bills. It had seemed as though the Pack taking the North was a foregone conclusion, but Detroit now controls its own destiny.
A victory next week against the Bears guarantees the team a shot at taking the division as they meet Green Bay head-to-head in week 17.
Still alive: need help
These are exciting times in Buffalo.
While the odds are slim, it’s been a while since the Bills were still in the picture this late in the season.
Unfortunately, they’ll need to do more than just win as they’d be the odd man out in pretty much every single tie-breaker scenario.
Either way, one more victory and the Bills will have their first winning season in 10 years.
