BROWNS MAKE THE SMART PLAY WITH TEXANS TRADE

Hold the phone: the Browns may have pulled a surprise crafty move.

The Browns were the NFL’s possessor of the NFL’s largest cap space at over $100 million, and decided to use it in exchange for picks from Houston and taking on the awful Brock Osweiler contract.

The Texans moved on from Brock by sending out a 2017 6th rounder and 2018 2nd rounder. It’s a signal of a move toward a new QB and a reset for the Texans after that awful decision a year ago.

For the Browns, it got them even more draft picks in a trade more suited for the NBA.

If this really was a move for the pick, credit the Browns for actually being resourceful. That felt weird to say.
