It’s been a bad year for the fun NFL coaches. While many have speculated that Rex Ryan’s tenure in Buffalo may be short lived, the Bills made things official today by announcing the firing of Rex and his defensive coordinator brother, Rob.

The firing comes after the Bills blew a large lead on the Dolphins Sunday to lock up at least a .500 season.

Ryan inherited a Bills defense that was ranked in the top ten in the NFL and promptly rolled them into the bottom ten. The offense also never got off the ground.

The Bills brought Ryan in to get them over the playoff hump, but receded in Ryan’s tenure. Now the Bills enter the crowded NFL head coaching search, and look to rise from obscurity yet again.
