Westbrook delivers big Xmas win for OKC

After a rough start to the season the Thunder are trying to claw their way back into contention. Having won six of their previous nine game they needed a big win over the Spurs on Christmas Day to keep the train rolling.

With MVP Kevin Durant not suiting up for OKC, the team relied on Russell Westbrook to play the role of Santa Claus and slide down the chimney with a sack full of open-court buckets and sweet passes against the reigning champions.

Westbrook notched a double-double (34 points & 11 assists) as the Spurs D couldn’t find an answer for him all night.

The Thunder’s 114-106 victory pulls them within 2 games of .500, but in the tough Western Conference a record of (14-16) is only good for tenth place. They’ve still got their work cut out for them if they hope to have any chance of making one more championship run with this roster.
