Warriors go 16-0 to clinch all-time record

The Golden State Warriors have become the only team in NBA history to win their first 16 games of the season. The defending champions ran away early en route to a lopsided 114-77 victory over Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers.

Starting the season 16-0, the Warriors are showing they are no ‘lucky’ champions – like some opponents labeled them during the offseason, comments that may have fueled their rollicking start to the season.

Now that they have the record and no team seems to be able to slow down their high-octane offense, bookmakers are already looking at some other records the Warriors might be chasing this season.

Will they be able to better the 33-win streak of the 71-72 Lakers, or can they finish the season with 72-plus wins and delete the famed 1994-95 Chicago Bulls out of the history books? In the Bay Area, they have already started dreaming.
